How can compression help my horse?
The horse is a flight animal whose anatomy is designed to live in an open landscape and in constant movement.
Evolution has made it possible for its approx. Accelerate a 600 kg body to speeds of up to 40 km / h in seconds.
The problem
Unlike humans, who have well-developed muscles in their calves, horses only have tendons in the lower leg. The advantage: rapid acceleration in case of flight - the disadvantage: the lack of a muscle pump, so that the waste substances from the circuit can only be transported back to the heart slowly. The waste products are transported through the lymphatic system, which runs parallel to the bloodstream. Close to the heart, the lymph drains into the vein. If the lymphatic system is not fully functional, the proteins cannot be transported away and tissues harden, obviously an undesirable process.
Our (sport) horses spend a large part of the day on the box or perhaps a small paddock. The result: the natural metabolism is reduced. Longer boxing periods increase the chance of illness and injury. The regenerative process is slow and structures such as muscles, ligaments and tendons are more prone to injury.
The solution

Development

Using extensive testing, they were able to find the amount of pressure needed to positively affect the horse's vasculature, enabling preventative treatment.

NoLeaf immediately used that knowledge to develop a new type of product. The focus was to focus the desired pressure exclusively on the vasculature and to prevent the negative effects that occur when compression is applied in the wrong places, which can happen, for example, if it is bandaged too tightly.
