Novafon is a sound wave device that uses specific frequencies to generate vibrations that can penetrate deep into the tissue. So with the Novafon you treat not only the surface, but as much as 6 cm into the tissue. The targeted vibrations relieve pain, help release tension and stimulate blood circulation.
Which model?
For horses, we prefer to use the black Novafon Plus. This model is slightly more powerful than its little brother, (the white) Novafon and this extra intensity is especially useful for the larger and deeper muscle groups of horses.
A Novafon comes standard with both a sound ball and a sound plate, so you can get started right away. If you treat many large areas, then the Rehab set is a good choice, as it includes (among other things) the extra large sound plate.
How to.
Step 1 - Relax neck and neck muscles.
Treat with the sound plate and sweeping or circular motions, at level 2 (50 Hz) in the marked area. Adjust the intensity to your horse.
The treatment direction is not so important, but if your horse has a thick or long coat, it is more comfortable to work in the direction of coat growth.
Allow the horse to relax and release its muscles. Treat each side of the neck for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 2 - Treatment of stress points.
Switch to the sound ball, which can then be used to work directly on the trigger points.
The best way to find these points is to use your fingertips on the marked points. Choose level 2 (50Hz) and adjust the intensity.
Treat each pressure point for about 1 to 2 minutes with very light pressure, or with small circular movements.
Achieve optimal results
For best results, we recommend that you always consult with your veterinarian and/or practitioner first to determine which treatment is best for your horse.
A Novafon treatment takes 10 to 15 minutes and can be repeated daily. Always start with the mildest intensity and adjust gradually.
Always adjust the intensity individually for your horse, as vibrations are perceived very differently from horse to horse. Remember to always treat both sides.
