The Cavallo Hoof Boots Simple are simple, but very practical hoof boots of super quality! Perfectfor driving, but they can also be used on pasture, in the box, on the trailer and/or for hoof problems. They are easy to put on, fit firmly on the hooves without damaging them, provide good grip on the ground, are lightweight and extremely durable and protect the hooves without disturbing the hoof mechanism.
You can use them for:
- hoof protection in all terrain
- horses with thin or sensitive soles, or hooves that need extra protection
- horses that don't wear shoes and their hooves wear out faster than they grow back
- horses that have or have had a hoof ulcer, sole bruise, laminitis, nail tread or other hoof injury
- comfort in case of chronic pain or hoof sensitivity
- protection when your horse has lost an iron
-
and even for protection on the trailer or in breeding, because they can also be used over a hoof with shoes!
Cavallo hoof boots are very durable quality and, depending on how and how often they are used and with proper maintenance, can last up to several years in our experience!
Sold in pairs
Cavallo Simple's upper is made of a good quality leather, and the sole is made of sturdy TPU. There are 2 drainage holes in the side of the sole through which water can drain away (for example when you drive through puddles). The hoof boots are therefore not completely waterproof, but our experience is that you can usually use them very well to protect hoof bandages. Feel free to ask us about our experiences!
The hoof boots close with strong Velcro, and you can optionally buy a protective sock (Cavallo Pastern Wraps) if your horse has sensitive pasterns/skin, and/or if your horse has to wear the hoof boots for many hours a day.
- Moulded back for ball protection and extra wear resistance
- All-terrain tread prevents mud, sand and dirt from sticking to the sole
- Excellent grip while allowing natural movement
- Built-in cushioning in the sole
- High performance, specially formulated thermoplastic urethane (TPU) provides maximum protection, shock absorption, durability and abrasion resistance
- Soft foam-filled brim (Cavallo Pastern Wraps are optional, for extra protection if needed)

Tip: We also have the model Cavallo Trek Single which you can buy per piece. A great idea for protecting hoof bandages, for hoof ulcers and/or a lost iron, for example.
We always recommend using hoof boots on both hooves of a pair of legs, to prevent imbalance and crookedness of the horse. If your horse only needs the hoof shoe for a maximum of a few days, you can easily use a single hoof shoe, which then functions as a sick or first aid hoof shoe.
You can add extra velcros, turkeys, protective socks and also insoles, for extra comfort for your horse, buy additional. Find them in the shop.
Accurately measure the length and width of the hoof - do not include the balls of the hoof. Preferably measure immediately after a trim. The hoof boots take into account natural hoof growth between regular trims.
Find the right size m. b v the size chart and possibly also check our You Tube channel for video guides!
Tip: This model is suitable for (round) hooves that are just as wide as long. If your horse has narrow hooves (e.g. rear hooves), you may be better off with the Cavallo Simple Slim Select . This is in fact 6 mm narrower. We don't have these in our assortment yet, but we are happy to order them for you at home!
Do you have a large horse with very large hooves, or perhaps a mini horse with very small hooves? Then there are the Cavallo Big Foot Boots and the Cute Little Boots. These are currently only available on order from us and therefore have a slightly longer delivery time (approx. 7 working days).
When you receive the hoof boots
Please test the fit of the hoof boots, but remember that only unused hoof boots can be returned. So test them carefully on a clean and dry surface, which cannot damage the soles. If necessary, place a mat or towel on the ground for your horse to stand on during the fitting.
To keep the boots nice and clean on the inside, we recommend placing the hoof in a freezer bag when trying on, or wrapping it with a thin layer of cellophane.
- The shoe should go on easily, if you have to force the hoof into the shoe, then the shoe is too small.
- If the shoe can rotate around the hoof, the shoe is too big. A little movement is ok, after all, there must also be room for the natural movement of the hoof when landing.
Always introduce the hoof boots carefully. After all, they will feel different to your horse and can also give a slightly different movement pattern for a short period of time. Remember that sand or mud can get into the hoof boots, causing chafing or irritation. Especially with new shoes, it is smart to keep an eye on the hoof balls. Apply some zinc ointment, Vaseline or talcum spray to the hoof balls or use Cavallo Wraps for extra protection.
Check your horse regularly and always make sure that the hoof boots as well as the horse's hooves and legs are clean and tidy before putting on the hoof boots.
