Zylkene Equine

Zylkène is a supplement based on natural raw materials that can help horses to better deal with situations associated with restlessness and tension.

Zylkènet contains the natural alpha-casozepine, a milk protein, which has a relaxing effect without anesthetizing the animal. Researchers have discovered that this protein has a calming effect on puppies and kittens (and babies, for that matter) when they are nursing and this knowledge has proven to be of great use to many horses as well. The effect of alpha-casozepine has also been demonstrated in various studies in horses.

Zylkène ensures that horses can adapt more easily to stressful situations and can prevent help prevent. The most obvious situations where you can use Zylkène are during transport, during (forced) box rest, new environments and situations (e.g. driving in), shearing, Old and N New or weaning. Zylkène is used by many veterinarians, behaviorists and horse owners with convincing effect.

Zylkène comes in sachets with an apple flavored powder, which can easily be added to the daily feed. It is free from preservatives and lactose and can be fed to all age groups and pregnant and lactating animals.

Dosage

Mix or sprinkle the powder in/over a little feed and give it to your horse. You dose Zylkène according to weight and problem situation:

In short-term use (eg transport, blacksmith or vet):
10 mg pr. kg horse = 1 sachet per 100 kg horse. Give it about 1 hour before the scheduled event.

For optimal effect you can already start 2-3 days before with 1 daily dose (1-2 sachets pr. day). In very restless horses it may be necessary to start earlier (about 1-2 weeks) and to build up the dose.

With long-term use (e.g. weaning, breaking in, boxing rest/rehabilitation) :
2 mg pr kg horse daily, i.e.

• 1 bag for ponies/horses < 500 kg
  
• 2 bags for horses > 500 kg 
  

It may take up to 14 days after administration before the effect of Zylkene is noticeable in horses. It is recommended to conduct behavioral training in addition to Zylkène, and to evaluate the horse's behavior after about 20 days.

The optimal dose may vary from horse to horse. You can use Zylkene Equine for a longer period of time, if necessary.
