Super nice boots for cooling and heat therapy!
The eArtik cooling boots from eQuick have a unique design that keeps them in the right position to maximize the effect of the cooling pads on the legs.
Cooling therapy is one of the most effective methods to relieve soft tissue pain in the hard-working horse.
Cooling therapy with eArtik cooling boots can promote and aid healing of new and old musculoskeletal injuries prevent. When a horse works hard, capillaries dilate and tendons and ligaments become (very) warm. This process can continue even after work has stopped. With cooling therapy we can close the vessels and restore circulation after work. Cooling therapy can therefore also be used very well after every training and not only for injuries.
eArtik cooling boots can be used for :
- swellings
- sprains or strains
- ligament and tendon injuries
- and other cases when cold is necessary
And because you can also use these boots for heat therapy (warm up the gel packs before use), they are also great for horses with osteoarthritis or senior horses with stiffer joints.
The included gel packs are reusable and made of non-toxic material.
Sold in pairs, and includes 4 gel packs (2 for each boat).
Place the gel packs in the freezer for at least 2 hours. When you need them, take them out of the freezer and put them in the mesh bags on the inside of the cooling boots. Then place the eArtiks around the horse's legs.
It's always a good idea
to ask your vet for advice before applying cooling therapy, heat therapy or a mix of both to your horse.
The standard recommendation is to use the cooling shoes for about 20 minutes and then put them back in the freezer so they are ready for next use. Consult with your vet about how long you need them for your horse and in your specific situation!
Ideal for both cooling and heat therapy
You can also use eArtik gel packs for heat treatment. Then heat the two gel packs in the microwave for a maximum of 1 minute at 650W, or warm them in hot water for 5 minutes. Take them out and use them where necessary.
Note: If you do not use the gel packs in the pockets of the boots, wrap a cloth around them so that they are not too cold or being too hot for your horse.
One Size
The eArtik cooling protectors have three Velcro straps with elastic, so that the protectors can be custom made for different sizes of horse legs. The total height of the gaiters is 37 cm, the cooling section measures 30 cm.
Easy to use and easy to wash: Simply remove the gel packs and put the protectors in the washing machine at 30°C. We recommend closing all Velcro straps and using a laundry bag.
