Virkon™ S is a well-documented disinfectant that is effective against viruses, mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi. It is biodegradable and can be used to disinfect stables, (competition) boxes, (veterinary) clinics, trailers and trucks, brushes and other equipment as well as boots and shoes. Virkon™ S is also approved for wiping surfaces.
Can be used in stables where animals are present - Leaves no harmful substances in the environment.
Tip: Virkon S can be used for a hoof bath, for example in case of a hoof ulcer or white line disease. Make sure you protect (delicate) horse skin, so make your hoof bath no deeper than about halfway down the hoof.
Virkon™ S is also effective for disinfecting objects and various instruments. The powder is dissolved in water and sprayed onto the area to be disinfected using a backpack sprayer, low-pressure cleaner or other suitable equipment.
As a modern oxidising disinfectant, Virkon™ S is effective even at low temperatures. The product consists of several components, each of which attacks different parts of the microorganism. At the same time, the components reinforce each other. Oxidation of the micro-organisms takes place, so that no resistance can develop.
Instructions for use for Virkon S
Virkon™S is dissolved in water according to the dosage instructions. The disinfection must be carried out on clean and preferably dry surfaces. Delicate surfaces such as soft metals, plastics and rubber should be rinsed with water after approximately 15 minutes.
Dosage
Use a 1% solution, dvs
- 10 grams per 1 liter of water
- 50 grams per 5 liters of water
- 100 grams per 10 liters of water
Virkon™S is dissolved in a suitable bucket, drum or container.
IMPORTANT! Use cold or lukewarm water up to a maximum of 35 degrees. The container should not have a tight-fitting lid, as the solution then develops overpressure.
The solution has a shelf life of approximately 5-6 days and when the pink color disappears, the effect has worn off and a new solution must be mixed.
Caution! Virkon S Must not be mixed with other chemicals - The solution must not come into permanent contact with soft metals such as copper and aluminium, as corrosion may occur.
