What materials are used in Stretch & Flex Wraps?

Stomatex® was originally developed for athletes and provides 4-way stretch so it can be used around movable joints. In addition, Stomatex has a unique ability to keep the skin dry. The material ensures that the horse's legs remain cool and maintain an ideal skin temperature over a longer period of time. The material works by effectively transporting air molecules from the underside of the fabric through flexion in the small 'bumps', which contain a small opening in the centre. This also gives the fabric its unique appearance.

Automotive Grade Cushioning Spacer Mesh: This mesh is strategically placed over the vulnerable tendon area to provide extra protection. The spacer fabric has an extra jersey material on the inside of the gaiters to create an even softer lining against the horse's leg. The spacer fabric works perfectly as a "cushion" and is comfortable to wear, while also allowing heat and moisture to pass through, allowing sweat and heat to escape from the skin.

Who are Stretch & Flex Flatwork Wraps for?

Stretch & Flex Wraps are designed primarily for training and instruction, or as an easy, comfortable and protective eventing flatwork. Ideal for young horses or horses with a lot of exercise to provide (extra) protection in the dressage arena.

The material and design also make them very suitable for horses and ponies recovering from injuries or to provide soft padding over scars, galls or overlegs, for example.

As an alternative to bandages, these protectors are not only easy to put on, but also breathable and comfortable for the horse. They are available in two different models, so you can choose between a model with extra protection for the pastern (Training Wraps), or the shorter Flatwork Wraps. Both are made of a unique material that ensures a good, comfortable and flexible fit.

Measurements

Stretch and Flex Flatwork Wraps are available in black and white and in different sizes.

Can be used both front and back, whereby you usually choose a size larger for the hind legs than the front legs.

In the table you will find the following specific dimensions:
(A) height of the gaiters (measured on the inside)
(B) circumference of the horse's legs
and
( C ) height of the horse

Care

You can rinse them with the garden hose or if you want to wash them more thoroughly, you can wash them in the washing machine at 30 degrees. Let them air dry, away from a direct heat source, and they'll be dry and ready to use in no time!

If you're washing them in the washing machine, close the Velcro and use possibly a laundry bag. Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. Dry naturally.
